In 2011, the Time magazine declared a protester as the person of the year. At the turn of the years 2013 and 2014, people went out to the Independence Square in Kiev to express their attitudes on the heading of Ukraine and on the regime of President Viktor Yanukovych. They were not frightened of oppression, intimidation, violation or laws that made the demonstrating citizens become criminals. Many of them sacrificed their lives for their vision of the future. Today, Ukraine is at the door of a civil war.
